Sliding Rock, located just south of Cashiers, is a natural rock slide and a popular swimming spot, easily accessible at just over 4 miles from the Cashiers crossroads.
The Chattahoochee River maintains a steady flow year-round over this 10-foot-high slide, creating a fun pool area below. We recommend bringing a tube for a softer landing on your way down, but it’s definitely not necessary!
From the crossroads in Cashiers, head south on NC Hwy 107 for 1.9 miles. Turn right onto Whiteside Cove Road and continue for 2.8 miles. After crossing the bridge, pull off onto the dirt area on the right. Follow the trail to the right for about 100 yards to reach Cashiers Sliding Rock. You’ll find swimming holes both above and below the waterfall.
